Anime Streetwear Brands
NEXO Street // Guide
How to recognize a good anime streetwear brand
Searching for “anime streetwear brands” often leads to lists of stores that print the same screenshot on a generic T-shirt. This guide explains what separates a design brand from a reseller, so you can judge for yourself — including us.
What is anime streetwear?
Anime streetwear blends Japanese anime aesthetics with contemporary streetwear silhouettes: oversized hoodies, boxy T-shirts and roomy cuts. It is not merchandise: licensed merchandise reproduces official artwork, while anime streetwear reinterprets characters, symbols and narratives from its own design perspective.
That difference is what separates a garment you can wear any day from a fan costume.
The five criteria that matter
Is the design an original illustration or an anime screenshot with a filter on it? A design brand names its artists.
If the grams are not listed, be wary. A serious hoodie ranges from 280 to 410 gr; below 240 gr, the garment lacks body.
Quality DTF and screen printing last for years. Cheap transfer cracks after ten washes.
Does it say how many units it produces? “Limited edition” without a number means nothing.
Local production with delivery in days, or dropshipping with a 30-day wait and no real returns.
Where NEXO Street stands
We are a Colombian anime streetwear brand. We design, produce and sell our own garments, and this is how we measure up against the criteria above:
| Criterion | NEXO Street |
|---|---|
| Artwork origin | Original compositions by Rabbid, Ledsen and Satoru.demi. No reproduced official artwork. |
| Fabric weight | Hoodies and T-shirts in different fabrics and weights depending on the edition. Check the available options on each product page and the size guides for hoodies and T-shirts. |
| DTF, more durable than traditional screen printing. | |
| Batch | Numbered on the product page: NØX-01 is the first, and it states how many were made. Once it closes, it does not reopen. |
| Production | Colombia. Preparation takes 1 to 2 calendar days, followed by an additional 1 to 3 business days in transit, with a tracking number. We ship only within the country. See our shipping terms. |
| Exchanges | 30 days from delivery for exchanges due to size or preference, subject to the terms of our exchanges and returns policy. |
And the other brands
Anime streetwear grew quickly, and today three very different types of brand coexist, even though they all use the same term:
Independent design brands
Small studios with their own artists and short production runs. Higher prices, thoughtfully designed garments. That is where we belong.
Licensed merchandise
Official products from the publisher or animation studio. Artwork faithful to the series, variable quality, wide availability. Perfect if what you want is the exact character.
Catalog dropshipping
Stores that resell the same generic design under twenty different names. Shipping takes three to six weeks, and returns are difficult. You can recognize them by the missing information: no fabric weight, no artist, no unit count.
None of the three is illegitimate. It is simply worth knowing which one you are buying before you pay.
